Once a month the GameDev Meetup is taking place at the “Basislager” in Leipzig. The local games development community comes together to discuss the latest games, share their knowledge or showcase their latest prototypes. The event usually starts with a short keynote speech.
Last week I had the pleasure to give a keynote speech about Game Audio and its characteristics. As video games differ with its interactivity from other types of media, the audio also needs to be treated in a special way and be interactive. Depending on the player’s input and playstyle the audio needs to adjust to the new situation. With that conclusion in mind we discussed different ways of dynamic audio implementation.
